Vamshi Saggurthi.
I am a Full Stack Software Engineer.
A San Francisco–based software engineer specializing in distributed systems and AI-driven applications
About Me
Hi, I'm Vamshi — a software engineer who enjoys working on complex distributed systems problems and building AI-powered applications on top of them.
I started out with web applications, which gave me a strong foundation in how users interact with software. Over time, my interests shifted toward the harder parts of systems: streaming platforms, microservices, data pipelines, and the infrastructure needed to run them reliably at scale.
I've worked at Amazon, Striim, and Dassault Systèmes, and contributed to research published in Nature Communications and SIGMOD. Today, my work mainly focuses on designing and operating distributed systems, building AI-driven applications and automation, and creating systems that are reliable, observable, and performant at scale.
I'm especially interested in the kinds of entropy that show up in large systems — partial failures, inconsistent state, noisy signals, and unpredictable workloads — and in designing software that stays understandable and dependable despite that complexity.
I enjoy working end-to-end, from APIs and user-facing tools to backend services and infrastructure, and I care deeply about building systems that are correct, resilient, and easy to reason about in production.
Here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:
- Python
- Java
- React
- TensorFlow/PyTorch
- Kubernetes
- AWS

Where I’ve Worked
Software Engineer II @ Amazon
June 2025 - Present
- Led modernization of a large monolithic React application into a modular proxy-based architecture, launching to 25+ regions with production validation and AppSec approval within 8 weeks.
- Built system health validation and observability tooling for AWS Outposts (on-prem distributed systems), enabling early detection of failures and reducing operational risk.
- Developed telemetry pipelines to monitor system correctness, availability, and performance across geographically distributed deployments.
